As my friends could tell you, two of my favorite fashion muses are the identical looking Olsen girls.  Yes, I love both and for different reasons, but MK is the spotlight girl today and for whatever reason usually the one most people love hating.

What I love about Mary-Kate is that she never looks boring and just when you think you might have her style figured out she changes it up.  She has this wonderful, “I don’t give a damn” attitude that forever keeps her as a true individual and love or hate her style, you still notice.

Now in reality I don’t dress anything like Mary-Kate.  First of all, she is like 5’1 and I’m 5’9.  She is teeny tiny and I’m well, uh with a bit more to love.  That aside I have been inspired not by mimicking her style but rather by sort of conceptualizing her ensembles.  Both Olsen girls choose strong pieces and accessorize with brilliance.  They always seem to have the best shoes which of course appeal to me, a shoe fiend.  [Note Mary-Kate’s shoes in the second picture = fabulous.]  You may or may not appreciate everything they wear but I encourage you to look closer and see if you can’t learn from their creative fashion genius.

Here are three different event moments to muse over.  I love the red lipstick and nail polish.  Love the simple black dress paired with fantastic shoes and jewelry.  And the gold ensemble is a statement on its so she keeps the jewelry to a minimum.
